Conversation at dinner:
E: Yay! We're having pizza!
*eating noises*
E: Mama, do you like pizza?
Me: Yes.
E: Me too. Did you know that if you like pizza that means you like Italian food?
Me: That's right, Emma. Pizza is Italian food. Where did you hear that?
E: Ishrit told me.
*silence*
Me: Of course he did.
The irony: Ishrit is Indian - he is a first generation American. His parents emigrated here from India 8 years ago. Emma and Ishrit are partners on their "research" project on the Diwali celebration in India. But apparently he's an expert on ethnic cuisine. Perfect.
